39th Annual Mississippi State University Art and Design Competitive Exhibition

Selected Student Artworks on Display-- The Mississippi State University Department of Art will host its 39th Annual Art and Design competition and exhibit from February 8 through March 25, 2011.  The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held this Thursday, February 17 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the McComas Hall Art Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. The gallery is filled with over 110 works of art in photography, printmaking, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and graphic design. Over 12 awards with a combined value of over $2,000.00 will be given in Fine Art and Graphic Design categories.  This year’s jurors are Marain McLellan, New Orleans art critic and teacher and Chris Nolen, Art Director for the national advertising firm Mad Genius.
